Church Rota

Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct each other with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts.

Col 3.16

Quorum

Quorum is a small a cappella choir specialising in singing renaissance sacred music in a liturgical context based in Milton Keynes, and in recent years has explored music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The choir is well known for the high quality of its singing, its flexibility, and ability to provide suitable music for a range of church services. The choir provides music for Choral Evensongs, Sung Eucharists and Words and Music services in local churches. Each year Quorum sings weekend services at a Cathedral as a Visiting Choir. Quorum is also available to sing at weddings.

Quorum at Willen on St Mary Magdalene Feast Day

The group gave its first performance on All Saint's Day in 1984 at All Saints Church, Lathbury, Bucks. The founder members were passionate about early music and wanted to sing this music in a small choir. The group originally sang secular and sacred early music, but gradually began to specialise in providing music for church services.

The group is considered 'quorate' when there are enough people present to cover each part - hence the name Quorum. Since the late 1980s Quorum has had an association with St Mary Magdalene, Willen, and each year Quorum provides music for a number of Evensongs and Words and Music services at the church. Please see the church calendar for further details. Alternatively, see the Quorum website at www.quorummk.org.uk.

Come and join us for any of our services where we are joined by Quorum to enhance our worship. The acoustics at Willen Church are superb, and if you like your church music traditional, these services would suit you very much.
